My Aunt found these two bass lying on the bottom of her pond in the shallows a couple of years ago. I guess the fish wasn't able to free itself because of the gill plate, or its mandible jaw. We always joked around about it, that maybe it was a head on collision going after the same BG.

The over-exuberance of youth.....

That is a classic picture.
It's not about the fish. It's about the pond. Take care of the pond and the fish will be fine. PB subscriber since before it was in color.

Saw a pic (I think on here) of a 15incher with an 11 inch one stuck in it's mouth. Gives a whole different perspective to the old sayin eat me.

I found a dead and floating 19"+ LMB last year at a public lake with a still very alive 8" crappie stuck in the LMB's gill plate. I set the crappie free but it was in rough shape, I have my doubts that the crappie survived. I wish I would have taken a few pictures.

The Nebraska folks will appreciate my story. We put radio transmitters into 10 inch bluegills at Pelican Lake, NE, a few years back. Two northern pike died trying to swallow too big of a bluegill -- two of our transmittered bluegills.

Maybe it's just me, but the LMB on the left looks a little bit thin.

Classic case of "eyes bigger than the stomach"! Never go to the grocery store when you are hungry either! I usually end up with a bunch of stuff I really don't know what to do with WE are cannibals when young. A number of years ago, a guy from PA sent me a pic of a chain of 15 WE trying to eat the other. His first attempt at feed training. Wasn't going all that well. I probably still have the pic, but that would take some serious digging. Anyone have a Travan tape drive I can borrow? Crazy fish anyway
