Looking to put a level switch to control my well pump to keep the level in the pond. Any idea's on where to start looking. I put a timer on it to run 2-3hrs a day, but some day's when we get a rain shower, the pump doesn't need to be on.

I assume the pump runs straight shot into the pond, rather than through a pressure tank?

Yes, Theo it's a straight shot into the pond. I was thinking of some kind of ball float switch, so that it will have several inches of play in it.

Wayne,
We do that with garden ponds. Easy and we can help you design it. We have installed these on most of our garden ponds. they have 1/4" brass float and the water fill valve.
The problem is you really don't know you have a leak in a pond until you get the electricity or water bill at the end of the month and you realize the pump has been filling the pond 3/4 of the day.
