What are your thoughts on the best pipe for drainage that runs horizontal thru the dam for a 2 acre pond? Black corrugated plastic or metal galvanized or PVC

Mike Otto the pond building guru told me that metal galvanized was being used less and less due to rust and leak issues. He said black corrugated was better. You could call or e-mail him and ask him. Super nice guy. http://www.ottosdirtservice.com/Pages/default.aspx

I've seen on this site that some make their own with a form and concrete. What type of collar is best?

We used sheets of metal for our collars. Welded to the pipe.
