I have a submersible(a new 2HP 24 stage)as well. I regulate the water with a gate valve down by the SupHorizOxyg so that I disperse enough water so my pressure reads about 40 PSI while filling the pond. By having my pressure switch set 40/60, I still have enough water & pressure for house usage at all times.
My neighbor's pond is down about 5 foot from the drought the last 2 years.......mine is full. Of course, I am about $3K poorer because of the new pump & additional pressure tank.
Bottom line....I'm happier and the fish are happier which in turn makes the wife happier....what a vicious circle....
