I'll give a free, one-year Pond Boss Subscription to someone who participates in this thread. If you have a subscription already, I will extend it one year.
Here's the rules:
In twenty words or less (ALL CAPS), name something you've observed at your pond, or somebody else's, that you think flies in the face of conventional wisdom.
One April 1, I will randomly draw a winner from all who participated.
I will start. Of course I'm not eligible to win.
YELLOW PERCH, PACKED IN A CAGE, WILL AGRESSIVELY FEED FROM THE SURFACE WHEN THE WATER IS 35 DEGREES FARENHEIT.

NORTHERNPIKE, MUSKIE, YELLOWPERCH, CRAPPIE, BLUEGILL, CATFISH, HYBRIDSTRIPEDBASS, SMALLMOUTH, HYBRIDBLUEGILL, LARGEMOUTH, WALLEYE, RAINBOWTROUT, ALL BIG AND FROM SAME BODY OF WATER.....         They only let me put 8 pictures per post or I woulda represented em all....I drank a bunch of iced coffee so I will probably be up all night....Bruce, your hybrid bluegill pic was gonna be the next one to make the post, but they cut me off at 8.... JHAP, green sunfish woulda been on the list, but Bruce limited me to twenty words....

A POND THAT HAS LITTLE TO NO VEGETATION PRESENT CAN STILL PRODUCE TROPHY FISH. A BALANCED SCENARIO ISN'T ALWAYS NECESSARY.

Big catfish are hard to remove once they have been hooked once. Just bow fish them at feed time.

TROPHY DREAM BLUEGILL CAN BE ACHEIVED BY PROPER CATCH AND RELEASE TACTICS ALONG WITH COMMON SENSE MANAGEMENT, I HAVE PROOF!!!!!!
Most people in my area dont even think a 1 pound gill is possible.. let alone 2.
