I read about a home literally cleaned out by the bad guys. They took everything, furniture, appliances, the kitchen sink, electrical wiring from the walls, a/c. If they have time, they can steal everything.

in Dallas a couple of years ago thieves were going in McMansions that were having an "open house" with no realtor on-site and stealing the big ovens and fridges. They would just tell visitors they worked for the builder and were changing out some appliances.
