Fish kills are hard to avoid when Texas drought shrinks a "perfect" 2 acre pond to 1 acre - currently down about 2ft.
Depth of pond deep enough to handle past record setting drought and prepared for the next one with a 1hp Kasco surface aerator.
If fish farmers use surface aerators to sucessfully grow huge numbers of fish in small brood ponds - it is expected to be good insurance policy against another partial fish kill.
I'm a belt and suspenders guy with a good bottom diffuser system but my bet is on the Kasco!
