I am planning on building a 50 ac. lake. I have topo'ed the area and we have plenty of watershed to fill the lake. Also there is good clay for the dam construction, however we have several springs that flow a good bit of water. When I dig with a shovel around springs, the soil is sandy,so my question is "If the water pressure from the lake is higher than the springs pressure, will the water go the other way?" I will be clearing very large beautiful oaks to build this lake. I really want the lake, but i dont want to lose the trees if the lake wont hold water.
