Bing, I suspect as that CRP planting ages you will see less quail. Quail will utilize forested areas, but in limited amounts. They do use newly planted trees as cover until they reach that 10-15 year old age. It is another reason quail numbers are done. All the old farms there were prime quail habitat have no turned back into forests.
