AEM, stupid question but did the bass live after you caught it (I'm hoping you released it)?... I'm leaning toward a smaller perch.
Just re-read my post but just to let you know, I'm not a tree hugger or bass hugger either
. Perch are a lot easier to consume than the wider types. The LMB in my pond love the perch.
