I just picked up one of these wildgame camera's at walmart, they appear to be clearing them out for $35.
Here's a review of it.

Darn, I just got back from the place where walmartians hang out. I was checking out what they had for video surveillance. Not much in that line.

I like the one AP pointed out on another thread.

I bought two of those same cameras about three years ago for $50 each at Wal-Mart. They aren't great, but they work reasonably well. And, if they get stolen, they are a heck of a lot less expensive than the ones I lost in the past. Mine just don't consistently trigger, and the lenses are not very high quality. However, to get an idea of what is walking around on your property, they are pretty good. Battery life is very good.

I'm wild game dealer and would not give those to worst enemy. Cost u a fortunate to in full time. Horrible battery life. If ran from time to time ok I guess but if cheap go with ir4

Greg I don't expect state of the art performance for $35., but I know you can get duds in any kind of electronic device.

I talked with a guy who has one and had it out 3 months last fall, told me it took good photo's of game on the same set of batteries, of course this dpends on how many photo's it has taken. It has also gotten some good reviews.

I'm using it at the cabin for security and will start with batteries only, if the run time is not good I can plug it in to AC with my 6 volt AC-DC power supply.

I'll report on how it works, good or bad after a few months.

AP, I bought one a couple of years ago and am now on number 4. Let's just say that they have awesome customer service. If it doesn't work call them and they will replace it.

My current one flashes at about 6 ft on a walk test.

Dave it's good to know that Wildgame backs their product, I'll bet the hot weather down south is alot tougher on these things than up north.

I bought a good camera last time so I don't need good customer service. My junk one went in the trash. Life is too short for messing with junk.

I have a 9 year old Wildview (cheap junk) camera, still works good.
Now I have 2 cheap game camera's to keep an eye on my cabin.
Life's not as short as you think, and it's more fun with some extra cash in your pocket.

Some Chryslers are good too. My Wildview xtreme 4 was extreme junk. There is a reason that Honda and Toyota can charge more than their competition and still outsell them. That said, I bought my wife a Jeep (Crysler) and it has been pretty good so far. In a free country, we can make our own choices. Just expressing my opinion.

Just a quick update on my cheap-o wild game camera, it's still operating on the same alkaline batteries after 3 months, has taken more than 70 photo's and takes decent pictures.
It's hidden near the cabin aimed at the cabin for surveillance.

AP, have you gotten any pictures of critters (either 2 or 4 legged) that you weren't expecting?

Scott, the first place i mounted the camera was looking up the driveway and got some night photo's of bear and deer about 50 ft away so they weren't too clear, now i have the camera hidden looking at the cabin and only get me and my family, no trespassers yet.
I did put up 2 dummy video cameras, one near the cabin and one out at the entrance to the driveway, they have blinking red lights and I attached a box and antenna to make them look really wireless, also video warning signs, hopefully this will deter people, no problem yet.

I hope your trout will survive the brutal heat out there, we still haven't hit 90 degrees here yet.

Not looking good for the trout. Had 6 floaters on Friday, haven't looked at the pond this weekend yet. There are half dozen in the small pool where the oxygenated water from the well enters the pond, the water temp from the well is 55�F, the small pool is in the mid 60's. Today is the 4th day of triple digit heat in a row. It's supposed to cool down tonight/tomorrow, but this morning it was 80 degrees out with humidity in the mid to upper 80's.

Probably. I'm hoping he'll have his Goldens tested.

Just an update on my cheep-o game camera, last week after 7 months and 128 photo's the batteries died, I consider this great results and well worth the price if you don't need the highest quality photo's with all the bells and whistles.
My camera is just for cabin surveillance.

I've ran my bushnell for the last 2 years on the same batteries 1000's of pics not the cheapest but I'd recommend this camera to anyone great quality pics, instant response and just a little bigger than my iPhone. I saved some money not getting built in viewer but I have plenty of cards to just switch out..

Also the camera is not on all year 24/7 august through December

I just ordered the Bushnell 8MP Trophy Cam Brown Night Vision Trail Camera but haven't put it up yet. That dude is tiny; it nearly fits in the palm of my hand!

You'll love it I've ran moultrie, cuddeback, stealthcam and wild game innovation game cams and by far no comparison this is the best camera. Stealthcam being the worst and most overpriced piece of $&%�.. However I'm sure all cam technology has came quite aways since I ran the other brands..

I've made some changes to my cams. I'm now going to external 6 and/or 12 volt rechargeable batteries. I have a solar charger on one and will be adding to the rest.

With 6 cams running, 1.5 volt batteries are getting too expensive.

I did that with my moultrie's Dave, Worked great too.. To bad the cameras wouldn't last as long as the batteries.. They were old flash style cams both of them the flash quit working or the sensor for the flash i was told by Moultrie new parts were more expensive than the camera (how is that possible???) I still run one moultrie that is no flash LED (can't think of the name of that) I like the cam but what moultrie has made up with battery life and no flash they lost in horrible trigger and recovery time..

I'm using 2 Cubbacks(junk), one Wildgame Innovations(about 8 ft before a flash), 2 Stealth battery eaters, a Moultrie that takes a lot of pics of nothing and a couple of Primos. The Cuddebacks have the longest battery life. The Primos take the best pics but eat batteries. I have not had the same experience that AP has on Wildgame.

I have 8 corn feeders and at about $11.00 per 50 pound bag and that is getting expensive. Of course, they also take batteries. Then 8 cams. I have a Stealth and a Cuddeback on one feeder just for comparison. I put the Moultrie out the other day over a deer carcass just to see what came to feed on it.

I hear that the Reconox is the best cam but is $$$$$$. It only takes a pic when there is both movement and body heat.
