Pond Boss Forums AERATION Systems questions Took the plunge ---

I researched different avenues of aeration and was on the fence between windmill or compressor type aeration.. Late in my research, I found this website and it did shed some light, but I still wasn't sure which way to go..... so I picked up the phone and called Ted Lea ( I'm lucky, he's local to me ) and the rest is history!

Ted was very informative and designed a great system for me. On his initial visit he took some DO readings and they were not so great.. 1.4PPM @ 8' With only about 30 or so days left to aerate, Ted installed the system the next two days and set a goal of getting the DO at that depth to about 10 before the system had to be shut down.

The system:

1/3hp Piston compressor 4.4cfm
1- ATI Airpod - installed in approx. 6' of water (designated ice melter if needed )
1- Vertex Airstation - installed in approx. 12' of water.

I have been gradually running the system in longer intervals ( 12+ year old pond ) and can already see a change in fish behavior.. VERY active the last 2 days!

Took all the big bass after they closed? Wow amazing how selfish people can be!

Get some pellet trained 5 to 7 inch bass this spring and put them in a cage like I do. Feed them pellets all year and they will be large enough to escape predation by fall from the other 1 lbers. If you have an questions let me know.
