I ain't near as old as Ken or DD1, but I still remember we had a party line at the lake house when we finally got a phone.
The first 12 or so years of my life were integrated with party lines.
With cable phone service, the party continues
Still have it, but it's been unplugged for close to a year.
I don't even know what my home phone number is
Just part of a bundle package.
Who talks on the phone anymore, really!
With our high speed lives, maybe that decoder ring in a box of Cracker Jack, way back, would have level out the communications thing
