Without some weed cover or extensive brushy structure YP have a really hard time surviving unless the YP are beyond the forage size of your most common size of larger bass. This means that sizes of YP for supplimental stocking should be at least 8" and 9"-10" is even better when in sparse weed cover LMbass ponds. LMB at 16+" can easily eat 8" YP and they do it regurlarly. Scotty's 9.0" YP above has the 2.0" body height of a 5.2"-5.5" long BG. A 14" long LMB has the mouth gape of 2.5". Consider the fate of those cigar shaped 4"-6" YP with minimal weed cover with hungry bass present. Where to hide??? Fish structure just attracts YP where LMB are waiting for their next meal.
