This BOW was the vision of my grandfather. He had wanted a lake and had this one built around 1968. I believe it was filled in 1969. He stocked it with CC, LMB, BG, and GSF. Sometime in the '80s he added a few sterile GC to help keeps some weeds in check. I have not caught/seen any CC in years nor have I seen the GC. Not much has been done with the BOW, and most of my family was catch and release, so now the LMB population is out of balance. In recent years, we have started keeping LMB to try and get them back in balance. We are keeping 10-12 per month, but may need to double these numbers. I have printed out a Wr sheet so we can see how our LMB are stacking up against the averages. I also created a �catch� sheet, so we can accurately track our LMB catches. My uncle and I are talking about the possible addition of BCP to the BOW. We love to catch crappie, but I have read here that it will be a struggle to have a good LMB and BCP fishery. It is more likely to have one or the other, but not both.

I look forward to all the advice that I can gather from this forum and look forward to making some changes to the lake and see what happens.

Good summary - how are your other species faring? I'm assuming your BG are all pretty health - 7 - 10"+ and high WR?

I am not sure on the BG population. I have not fished for them, nor caught anyany on the 'big' bass type lures that I throw. I have plans to try and target some BG next time I am up there to see how they are fairing.
