Pond Boss Forums POND CONSTRUCTION Renovating a Pond or Lake? Many trees on the dam, Leaking dam

My family just bought this property a few months ago. I have some pictures of when the pond was healthy an full back in 2009 or so. I think we had a good year for rain that year but I'm guessing the dam was leaking then too.

Here's a picture walking on top of the dam. Lots of trees. Hard to get pics of behind the dam because it's so dense but there are a number of trees. Some at least 30 yrs old.

I'd second what Ken said in the other thread. Remove any trees and their roots that are over 4" diameter, just pull out any uncer that sise. Cut in a core trench, down to you hit good soil, and continue it out past the ends of the dam until you hit good soil. Pack it with clay up above the proposed water level and you'll be good.
