Interesting that this came up at this time. My wife caught some wieners yesterday and I cut their throats like you would for trout and tossed them on the bank so the resident heron would pick them up on his next visit.
I had a thought this morning of building a small corral near where the heron hangs out that we could toss them in so the heron could "catch" live bass instead of the BG he most assuredly goes after when he's there.
