I could use some more information on the size aerator necessary for my pond (details in original post).

In my opinion, the area most in need of aeration is less than three quarters of an acre. The remainder of the pond is around 5' on average. Should I get the aerator rated for an acre and place it in the deep end, expecting only to aerate that area? Or, should I get the larger aerator (2 acres) and expect it to aerate all the way down to the opposite end of the pond?

The solar aerator may be 3 times as expensive upfront, but the cost savings in the long run will theoretically even out.
