last weekend, we "upgraded" our koender's windmill aerator by replacing the standard tubing w/ 300' of weighted tubing and removing the airstone for a vertex rubber diffuser.

i noticed that the old tubing had been damaged ---looks like a critter's been chewing on the tubing.

we've had beavers living in our pond for a few years and it looks like they've found another way to drive us CRAZY!!!
any ideas to protect the new tubing?

You could slide your new airline inside 1" plastic water line to act as a "conduit." You might end up having to add weight to get the combined lines to sink - I can't remember if I had to weight the 1" plastic line in my pond or not (for livestock water, not conduit for the airline).

If you really think it's the beavers, I think you'd be ahead with a good offense,

I have my line run through a 3" pvc line that comes up through the floor of one of my buildings. The compressor is in the building and the pvc is large enough to pull additional lines through if needed. The pvc comes out in about 3 feet of water but could be continued. I pass it through concrete blocks to keep it in place. This would be difficult for deeper depths but the large coils of black water line could also be used. I use them for electrical wire I use underwater or bury as an extra proctection from abrasions. A 100 foot roll is 20-30 bucks at menards.
