When we bought our place last spring we noticed in the back woods there were 4 hog pens/traps. So this past week the local guy that watches our place baited one of the hog traps with some corn. We've been catching hogs ever since. I think we've caught 8 hogs so far. Yesterday we saw them for the first time. Last week he took a couple of hogs over to a gator farm that only accepts live hogs. When he got there they'd only give him $8 per small hog, so he said he's never going back there. It's a lot of trouble getting a live wild hog in your truck and then the gas to get over to the gator farm. Not sure if it's true, but the guy tells us there are about 4 million wild hogs in the US, and 2 million of them are in Texas. And I am told they do a lot of damage and it's getting worse because the reproduce so quickly.
