I have been a member since 12/11 and I thought it was finally time to stop reading everybody's post and start my own. And I wanted to start off by saying thank you. I have gotten so much info from reading the post on this website. We purchased a piece of property about a year ago that we plan on building a house on. The land has a 2.5 acre pond. My plan was to buy some fish on fish day at the local Co Op to stock my pond. Then I found this website and started reading. My plans changed.

I delayed buying any fish, I drained the pond down as far as it would go (about 1/3 of an acre), I killed off the existing fish in the pond (green sunfish and thread fin shad), and today I finished putting out some artificial structure which before I started the pond had none. The 2 items I have remaining is to lime the pond (which was suppose to happen this weekend but because of the rain it got pushed back) and then start stocking the pond this winter. I believe I am going to be much happier with the results and much of the credit goes to the moderators and members of this website.

Right now I leaning towards purchasing my fish from Suttle Fish Farm. Has anyone purchased fish from them and were you happy with the results?

Very nice post Fastpitch, and welcome aboard. I commend you on your decision to drain and kill off your pond first, before going ahead with your stocking plans. I think that was a wise move.

Sorry I can't help with Suttle, as I've never done business with them. Hold on for a bit, and I'll bet someone will be along with some input for you.

Again, glad to see you post!

"Forget pounds and ounces, I'm figuring displacement!"

If we accept that: MBG(+)FGSF(=)HBG(F1)
And we surmise that: BG(>)HBG(F1) while GSF(<)HBG(F1)
Would it hold true that: HBG(F1)(+)AM500(x)q.d.(=)1.5lbGRWT?
PB answer: It depends.
