Pond could use a filling since the renovation. Now it looks like it's going to track further west and would cruise right up the Ohio valley.

Lets hope some good comes out of Issac like much needed rainfall. I'm rooting for you!
If pigs could fly bacon would be harder to come by and there would be a lot of damaged trees.

I'm wondering if it'll be like Hurricane Ike in 2008. Ike dropped 12" of rain here in 24 hrs. during the first of Sept.

Chance of rain???? You know it's bad when you're hoping for the remnants of a hurricane to slam into your location head-on.

All the lakes around here are over full (flowing water out). We don't need any more !! Go away - to the west and then turn to the north.

Just a nice, slow 2 day drizzle will fit the bill. No harm done to anyone, I hope....nothing "slamming", please.

Too bad that Isaac is not likely to lift up when he gets to gulf coast and put back down in Indiana.

Dudley,
It still could effect the weather here as an extra tropical storm or shake things up. It all depends on the course.
Rained here pretty good last night though and supposed to rain all day.

For us down south, time to replenish fuel for vehicles, generators, gas cans & secure items in the yard. We have seen a few showers this past week but the pond water level is still down about 12-14". With the projected path coming up the Mississippi, we are surely to get heavy wind & rain.
I subscribe!

Please understand that I'm not blind to the plight of folks who are in the path of Isaac, especially when he's at his full strength. I hope and pray that everyone is out of harm's way, and that any damages are minor. But the fact is, by the time a hurricane makes it up here, it's just a tropical depression. And right now those are two of the sweetest sounding words in the English language to residents of these parts.
The general concensus among my friends and neighbors, says that if it takes the remnants of a hurricane to bring us some rain, then we'll take our chances with the possible flooding, or severe thunderstorms, or even tornadoes.... as lond as they're accompanied by rain. And I'm in agreement with that.
That's the situation right now, that's just how bad it is. No one wants to have lives lost, or property damaged, but we're in a bad place up here.
There's an old saying that tells us to be careful of what we wish for. I'm mindful of that, and I pray that the impact of Isaac will be kept to a minimum for my neighbors in the southern states. And I hope that Isaac brings us northerners nothing but a few days of continuous, gentle rain....but if my only chance of precipitation involves the possibility of enduring storms, wind, and even a tornado, I'm still going to have to say, "bring it".

Ah, just East of Nebraska! Sounds like a broken record.
Hope all my Southern brothers batten down the hatches and make it through this thing safely. I am happy that OK and MO might receive some much needed relief...guess we'll know by Saturday.

This morning, the computer model showed two different storm tracks, 300 miles apart. They still don't know if it'll go east or west.

The only difference between a rut and a Grave is the depth. So get up get out of that rut and get moving!! Time to work!!
