Last night I noticed what looked like a dog relieved himself on the corner of my dock. Upon closer inspection there was a whole mouse mixed in the pile. I can't tell which end of an animal it came out of. Before I put it on the canoe paddle it was not broken up at all. Any thoughts what might have left it on my dock? Fox? Owl?

If it went thru the digestive system of a critter, be it feathered or furred, the mouse should have been digested.
I've never seen that before!

Another vote for coyote, or canid of some sort. I think that in order to get a definitive identification, you're gonna' need to open that mouse up......see what it's been eating, then determine where such a food source might be found, make a list of predators common to such an area, cross reference those animals against.....

Don't make me deploy the Sock Puppet Special Forces. Besides I have finely tuned my digestive acids such that nothing would have been left of that rodent snack had it passed though my digestive system.

Finally JHAP chimes in. FYI I've been dissing you all over the place for months, with total impunity. Better check in more often or continue to remain defenseless!

Found another one... I was fishing the other night and found another mystery deposit on the dock. Same shape, slightly smaller but no undigested mouse this time.
I bought a trail camera and set it up tonight. Hopefully that will help solve this mystery.
