How about planting part of the field in blueberries, raspberries, etc...

Kids love them

We have fig trees, avocados, citrus, mayhaws, strawberry guava, blueberries, raspberries

I realize our climates are different

Just for us and the animals
Still young plantings but doing well
I underestimated the maintenance to be honest
