STOCKED!

Got the first order delivered on Saturday. They were running low on everything I wanted so I ended up only getting the following for now.

3 > 8-10" LMB
19 > 12+" LMB
12 > 6+" BG
2 > 12+" GC

I cleaned them out of LMB and 6+" BG. It will work for now, have to see what fall brings for another round.

Thanks for all your help!

Caught the first bass today, over my lunch break with chartruese rooster tail! It was one of the smaller ones, but still good to see!

Ok guys, for the sake of not creating another post on this same subject I will resurrect this one.

Just had a fish kill 7/22/12, so it is time to get a new plan together for re-stocking. I am going to seine it this fall before stocking anything and pull all the "un-wanted" out. I am also adding some Water Hyacinth and will add them every spring as there is currently very little vegetation. Before I stock I will add the RC51 Aeration System in as well. Hopefully I will get a well put in to keep the pond at full pool next year, but that is still up for debate.

My question is, what do I stock this fall and what do I follow it with in the spring? I want a fairly balanced pond with BG, LMB, CC and a few HSB.

Thanks for your all you help, LOVE THIS SITE!!

Also, I just read that Black Crappie will not tend to overpopulate like White Crappie do. Says they are safe to put in ponds as small as 1 acre. Is this true? If so, I would like to add BCP to the list above as well. When and with what should I start?

BCP are not a good species to stock in a small BOW, although they are more appropriate than WCP. Unless you plan on intensive management practices [seining, angling, trapping, etc.] they will likely overpopulate and stunt and stress your forage base unnecessarily. Unless triploids become commercially available Crappie stocking will likely continue to be discouraged fishery management practice for small BOWs [under 20 acres].
