Is Lyngbyu the stuff that floats up from the bottom in pieces then sticks together? I am getting it as my new 1 acre pond is 5 inches from full. It currently covers about 1/4 of the surface area if you put it all together. I did a water test and determined my ph was about 8.2, my alkalinity was 800? (bad memory), nitrates-ok, I do know that I am putting iron in as it is well water and it is leaving the red residue in the pipe. Is the high ph contributing to this? The fish are feeding well and my FHM's have spawned again, so I think that is positive. I am putting in a diffused aeration system within 2 weeks, will this help me?
The lovely Mrs. Schmitt is beginning to give me the "lack of confidence" look. Thanks for any guidance.
