North Centeral Missouri Pond/Pool Project

This is what I have to work with and I will still try to filter this in some form.

I am considering lowering the water level to the point I coudld add concrete walls around the portion with concrete floor and make a pool/pond. the upper half would be filtered and flow into the pond I dont know how to link this to my existing post?

My only input.. WOW THAT'S AWESOME!!!

I believe in catch and release. I catch then release to the grease..

Thanks for posting.... now I can use this for evidence that our pond project is calm compared to yours!

You have a very nice setting there. I'm sure it will provide much enjoyment.

Just my thoughts.
Vallisneria, Corkscrew (Vallisneria americana var. biwaensis) grows about 6 inches high and my plantings did well. I could see a carpet of this growing in a swimming pool type of pond and keeping the water filtered. This grew in mud, muck and sand all equally well but the sand didn't hold the roots as good and the plants could be dislodged easier then the other two mediums. But maybe a sand bottom filled with corkscrew would be soft on the feet to walk on. I know you already have a rock bottom so this is just an idea tossed out there.

John, from my research, the biwaensis Corkscrew is not suitable for walking on, if the leaves are damaged they will die, turn brown and rot. I was considering trying this corkscrew in my pond but I'm afraid the traffic from my dogs would tear it up.

the riprap have been good structure for the crawfish that feed the smallmouth.
