We have a Boga grip too. My main complaint with it is that it knocks significant weight off caught fish. Amazing how that 8 pounder shrinks to 6 when you weigh them! :-)
We did tie a string to it just to ensure it doesn't take a permanent splash.
It is well made.

Ranger - you are Sooooo right - knocks at least a couple of pounds off a 8 pounder and a pound off a ..... - well - you know...
This is the best way that I have found to always have a 15# size Boga handy - coiled key chain holder - couple of bucks from WallyWorld...
Floats are most often used for 30 and 60lb size models....
