Since these were so small I did not mess with cutting out the red strip and they fried up nicely. Here is a pic of the end result. Attachments

I thought you couldn't just fillet them because of the bones? All I remember is my dad telling me when i was a kid was " that's a damn drum, full of bones and trash, throw it back" never even thought of keeping one since then lol I believe in catch and release. I catch then release to the grease.. BG. CSBG. LMB. HSB. RES.

I'm pretty proud of her fishing ability, but it also embarrasses and puts me to shame (I will not be including any of my fish from the night...). Bruce: My wife is intensely jealous of your catfish. All looked like they were ready to spawn. The shad, yellow bass and white bass as forage have created some toads at Fork, and the next few years should again be as spectacular as the old days. Caught several 4 pounders that had 2 pound frames. AL
