Have you seen any on the fish ? Fish do eat them.
Laugh, I haven't been able to actually catch any of the fish I stocked. I haven't seen any of them except for an occasional surface commotion. I must have jump started the FHM and golden shiner population too well.
When I throw pellets in the pond, mostly what I see are thousands of small minnows up to 1-1/2" taking turns pushing AM400 pellets around like little soccer balls as they try to take a bite out of them. Then an occasional larger splash occurs which I suspect are the small number of larger golden shiners or YP that I stocked. I am still finding newly hatched fry (6-8 mm) along the pond edge everywhere, those I can catch with a cup.
For the moment I won't worry about leeches affecting the fish, I suspect the WR's on what I did stock look really good right now and the leeches are having a minimal effect on them. I will say that having that many leeches on my feet for the short time I was in the water was kind of creepy.
