I don't know about the live mint plant; but I have used spearmint oil in a lure formula for coons that worked well so I would be somewhat suspicious of its efficacy in keeping them away...

I've also heard of that fly poison method.

I've also come to appreciate my TH feeder as coons are obviously trying hard and unsuccessfully to get into it.

Need to figure out something myself. Pond is about 4 ft low so might try to mount the feeder away from the dock this time. We are on a first name basis with the neighbors dog so we need to be careful about home remedies. Here's a few pictures of the culprits! I honestly think they figured out how to spin the bottom of the feeder to get food out. And they figured out how to spin the whole feeder to shoot the food onto the dock. I do get some enjoyment out of thinking they fell into the pond which is why its all muddy.

We don't have much of a problem this year, our Raccoons had some sort of disease, possibly mange. Found a couple of them dead, one right at my sons bus-stop. No fur and really skinny. Others I have spoken to saw the same thing and finding dead ones. I am assuming the mild winter got them mixing it up with each other spreading the mange, and no food sources.

Sounds like mange to me. I saw 2 yotes during turkey season that had it and looked the same way. But they were still alive.

Same hear, couple of the yotes were nearly naked except for a little tuff at the end of the tail. Looked nasty....
