I took the Cub Scouts last year. 5 kids each caught a fish. It worked out just right. Total stringer was just short of 40 pounds. The pushbutton Shakespeare reels weren't up to the task. I went out last weekend and bought 4 new ones, somewhat heavier duty. I save the cats for kid fishing and don't care what happens to the gear.

I will also be cooking lots of hotdogs. I have as much or more fun than the kids and I get rid of the overgrown cats.


It's not about the fish. It's about the pond. Take care of the pond and the fish will be fine. PB subscriber since before it was in color.
