A kid posted this pic on our local bass fishing website asking if it was a largemouth or smallmouth? I was quick to decide its a largemouth due to its lateral line and greenish color. Others have their doubts citing the mouth design appears to be like a smallie. Any opinions?
A fast growing largemouth will have a small head and mouth. Could it be that? That sure looks like a largemouth to me.
I know other taxidermists did not like my feed trained largemouths as the heads were so small they couldn't find a manikin to fit the bodies and heads.
