I have this growing in one small section of the pond. What is it and is it good or bad? If bad do I need to do something other than pull it out?  Closer view.....

Pondweed of some kind? Can you provide a closeup of an individual strand and fan out the leaves against a white background? That enables guys like Cody and Kelly to make a positive ID. The minute details of the stem and leaves make a huge difference.

Can't be positive from the photos but it looks like chara or nitella (higher forms of algae). Does it have a "skunky" odor when you crush it?

Remove as much of the patches as possible and keep an eye on it. It will no doubt regrow fairly soon.

If you add a little Cutrine-Plus granular in the areas where you removed the Chara it might not regrow as quickly.

Thanks for the help, I'll add this to my list of plants to eradicate...right behind the willows and cattails that think they can sprout up where ever they want.

I've used grass carp in a couple of ponds in my area to get it.
Actually, I'm going to add some to my pond next year before it gets out of hand.
It's not about the fish. It's about the pond. Take care of the pond and the fish will be fine. PB subscriber since before it was in color.
