Protecting my spawning BG from birds

I noticed that an osprey has shown up at the pond. I put this together with some 1/2 inch conduit and fishing line to keep him from dining on my spawning fish. So far so good. Herons will walk around it but won't try to go through it too.

If pigs could fly bacon would be harder to come by and there would be a lot of damaged trees.
