Interesting you mention that Greg. I don't seem to get a good bloom going in my ponds until I get my first thunderstorm of the spring. I don't believe it's temperature even though the T storms tend to coincide with warmer temps. I'm thinking that means I may have been limited in nitrogen as thunderstorms produce nitrogen?
