I have been searching through my bird books at home and cannot find out what type of Heron this is....

He has been hanging out at my pond here in East Texas nearly two years. The GBH tend to move on (chased away by my dogs) but this little guy is very swift and elusive. I have tried many times to get good pictures. He is rather small, almost comparable in size to a cattle egret.

We had a little church fishing tournament at our house a week ago and I was amazed this bird showed up for a quick drink/bath while 60+ people were around.

Any help identifying him would be greatly appreciated!

I do suspect it to be a green heron, but still looking for a confirmation....

I believe that'd be a green heron, adult.

It's not about the fish. It's about the pond. Take care of the pond and the fish will be fine. PB subscriber since before it was in color.
