I have a 3/4 acre pond here I'n Wi, that's 18 feet deep. Small spring feeds pond... I can't catch a bluegill or perch to save my life! I know there was 40 to 60 perch 10-12 inches last fall and 40 to 50 large gills I'n there I'n fall.the only fish I have caught have been a 4 lb smb, and a 3 lb lmb. Theres thousands of minnows that hold very tight to shore when it's sunny out, not many weeds I'n pond yet. Is there a chance I had a winter kill on the panfish? Also as of now surface water temp is 54.3, and water temp of spring entering is 46.2.

Jamie this sounds elementary, and probly stupid. What are you using for bait?

Your water temps are cool yet, I'll bet they come around once it warms a little more. 40-50 Gills' in a 3/4 acre pond has them spread pretty thin, might be tough to locate them. Try fishing low and slow... tiny jigs tipped with a spike or waxworm, suspended below the smallest float you can still cast... I prefer a slip float for this type of fishing, just play with the depth and drift real slow. Change your bait often, so it stays lively.

Have you tried minnows yet? I suppose you're talking yellow perch right? When my water was still cold, worms were not very effective. But, threw out a minner, and finally the bobber went under.
