Thanks. The first pic shows the problem. The original dam had a washout probably a good 20 years ago. I had several large trees on both the dam and in the pond area that had to come out.
As near as I can tell from looking at the topo map, this primary source of water will be drainage from a large pasture area (a couple of hundred acres or so). There may be more area draining into the pond, but haven't figured that out yet. I had a couple of feet of water show up after getting about .1" of rain, so I'm hopeful this won't be a dry pond. There are also a couple of small springs which are feeding a small amount of water. I am planning to put a well in also, but hadn't plan on using it to keep the pond topped, so I'll have to see.
Pond is in KS and Im living in Maryland right now so don't get to spend as much time as I'd like to get dirty..
