IMO when using algacide one should treat a few measured small areas with known amounts. Watch for results. Different species of algae have different resistances to treatments. When you see an acceptable responce use that dosage.
Whenever one has large amounts of algae to be killed never kill it all at one time. Treat subsections several days or a week apart to prevent large sags in loss of dissolved oxygen.
