I guess you haven't personally experienced the frustration of small mesh just fine for keeping the fry in but also the solids and quickly clogging the fine mesh due to the tremendous amount the fry eat and expel. This can lead to bacterial gill disease or worse D.O. and ammonia issues. I've already found some things look good on paper but in practice can be otherwise.
