Pond Boss Forums MANAGING AN EXISTING POND Feeding Fish Have Quit Eating!!! HELP!!

I live in East Texas. Catfish and Bluegill have been feeding great for last few months. Got a needed rain 3 days ago. Fish have not fed since the rain. Usually right before and when the feeder goes off they are hitting top of water. Last 3 days have not seen catfish or bluegill feed. Making me nervous. This is a 5 acre pond. Any help or advice to sooth the nerves is welcome.

Probably what has happened is the rain washed microscopic stuff the fish feed on that they haven't had in a while and their bellies are full. I noticed the same problem earlier this spring after a good rain. Give them a couple more days with little or no rain and they should eat your fish food again.

Agreed...a good needed rain washes in so many nutrients, the fish gorge themselves on items that aren't on the regular menu. They should return to the feed within a few days when their buffet runs out.

Thanks guys for the replies. As of 7:00 am this morning they are still not eating. Have noticed 3 big gray and 1 white crane looking birds hanging around pond lately. Surely they haven't cleaned out 1200 channel cat I hope??
