We had a big rain yesterday and last night. I have two yardsticks in the lake and they show the lake to have risen about 7 inches. That's a big jump for one day at this lake. It might indicate that something is finally working the right way.

It's to the elevation now where the seepage was. It would leak down to this level and below. The next couple of weeks should tell if it's going to hold water the right way. I started marking the water rise at noon on February 21 when we turned the well on. I've had to move my yardsticks but I was averaging a two inch rise per day. With the big rain last night I'm guessing it's risen 36-40 inches in those 17 days.

The two inch per day rise will slow down since now the well has more shoreline and lake area to fill. The higher it gets, the more area it becomes. But if I can keep an inch and a half rise per day average for the next week and then an inch a day, I think that will mean it's holding water.

I'm going to wait till things settle down from this rain and let the well run another week or so, then turn it off. That will be the first big test to see how good it is holding water.
