Where can I get quality BG close to my area? Minnows other than FHM would be a great bonus.

My pond is close to Abilene and I got mine from Bob at Texoma Hatchery. Give them a call and depending on how many you need, they mnight meet you halfway, they did for me. It's not too bad of a drive. You might also try Overtons. There was a place down close to Dublin but I don't know anything about them. I think the name is Adam's Hatchery.

We may be able to help you. Walt runs back and forth from our farm up to Montague county and services the general area. He might be able to meet you in route also.

I made the drive down to Overton Fisheries today and it was worth the 2 hour drive. I bought 8 lbs of FHM and will return in the Spring for more fish.

Anyone ever heard of Luster's fish and wildlife? They are IN weatherford so that would be great.

I've talked to him and he appears knowledgeable. I don't think he has a hatchery though. I could be wrong.

It's not about the fish. It's about the pond. Take care of the pond and the fish will be fine. PB subscriber since before it was in color.

Thank you Fanman for your reply but I decided to go with Luster's Fish & Wildlife. What a coincidience that i was one the same time you replied. Is 12.50 a lb. for GSF or BG a good price? FHM are also 12.50 a lb. while 3-4 in. BG and GSF are 1 dollar apeice.

That price seems a bit high, but more importantly, if he is a reseller, do you know the genetics of the fish he sells? Does he? Does he care? You will sooner or later.

I recommend one of the hatcheries that has been vetted here on pondboss. To go elsewhere is less smart.

Don't be less smart.

Connor, you are getting some very good advice here. Read between the lines, several people have mentioned sources that have proven themselves very reliable time and time again. I hope you make the right choice.
