Now don't diss the aught 6. That's my round of choice. I've shot and killed many deer at long range without losing any. They drop right where they are hit. One has to know the ballistic charts however, with any round. One size doesn't fit all. I shot at a coyote last Saturday and wondered why the shot dug up a cloud of dust six inches directly ahead of him. He was upwind lying down and facing me (over 400 yds.) so he didn't hear me. I grinned sheepishly, adjusted my scope and the next shot went thru his left eye. I like the 150 grain ballistic tip bullet. For shorter shots, I use the Nosler Partition bullet.
