Yep, seems like the ruffe and
goby are two different fish entirely. Sounds like they had a similar impact on the Great Lakes though. I'm sure Travis will weigh in with more knowledge of the subject, but from what I've ready the goby was introduced in the 80s. They're aggressive little boogers that like to eat eggs as well. But I guess smallies love them and that aspect of the fisheries has thrived since then.
