Hey everyone,

I have 3 stren feeders that I bought last year. I have had all three be damaged by raccoons and they need to be sent to someone that can fix them. I've messed with them for quite a while and have never been able to repair them. Two of them have had coons mess with the bottom spindle and it looks like they have somehow stripped out the motor shaft where the casting wheel is hooked up. The other one I believe has a bad motor. If I cannot get them fixed then I guess I may have to find another way to get the feed out there to them. I may try to rig up a couple of deer feeders out in the shallow water and fill them up in a jon boat(although this would be a pain to do every 7-10 days).

call stren to get the parts,you can look them up on your computer.i had some problems with mine 2 weeks ago,same problem with spinner plate working loose from shaft.they have had problems with all there units doing this and they will send you a new unit at no charge.they have made some inprovements to the new shaft.as far as wiring the units if they tore the wiring up,you should be able to do this yourself.i took my feeder apart to change the motor and was surprised how simple it was to work on.there is not alot of wiring in the unit.

My battles with the coons are unending, but I thought the Stren was the answer. Sorry to hear that the coons can get to them also. I've successfully used the "native" feeder hanging from a post in 6 feet of water, but it really is a pain to fill and hang out over the water. There just doesn't seem to be a good answer for the coons.

How about a small floating dock -- say one made with 4 barrels.
