I'll bet that in a 1 3/4 ac pond it could hold almost 1,000# of fish provided you aerated and fed them. But, going with high fish densities is like walking a tightrope, sometimes you fall off.
I try to manage my pond for the lowest water level that it will see, since it's a groundwater pond and will vary in depth/size depending on the groundwater level (no clay to line the pond when constructed).
