@Ken, WOW I didnt expect so much but I am greatful. Sounds like the general area will work perfectly so now I just have to find some dirt to call mine! Definately good to hear about teh mining as that was a significant concern. Still have lots of reading/learning to do and the willingness of people like you makes it much easier, thank you again.
@jludwig, goals...well honestly I would like to have a decent size (4-5 acres) pond for my kids to enjoy and for me to pull decent sized LMB out of, they dont have to be trophies but as always I would not be mad if I reeled in a nice 9lb'er. I grew up with my old man, traveling from where I grew up in MD down to Currituck Sound, NC back in the early 80s to fish for LMB. We would make 4-5 trips a year until the grass died out and those are memories I will never forget.....I want my kids to remember the same PLUS once I retire from the Army, I want to be able to sit and enjoy life, on the pond.
