Looks like a good portion of Texas has a much needed rain event on its way. 1-5 inches forecast over the next few days. Come on Rain! Could really have a positive impact on the drought and lake levels.

I just got about 3/4 inch in 15 minutes. There is more coming tonight!

OK, I couldn't stand it. So, I got my Wifes umbrella and went out to look at the rain gauge. 4.5 inches so far in the metroplex and the radar looks like it ought to be coming all day.

Looks like my ponds at Bowie will FINALLY get a good rain.

It's not about the fish. It's about the pond. Take care of the pond and the fish will be fine. PB subscriber since before it was in color.

I'll bet the ground is soaking it up as fast as it comes down. I hope it's moving North towards Kansas.

It looks like you guys down there are in for a wild day. Stay safe. I see Austin airport reported 2.79" of rain in one hour.

Tornados are forming already on the storm front.

I can't remove the smile from my face! Whoo Hoo! I hope you can get this rain spaced out every week or so for the next several months guys. Keep us posted, awesome pics George! Try to contain that overflow and use it for a dry day.

Those are all great reports and this is the best news since we landed on the moon.

These recent last few little teaser rains got our phones to ringing again, but this rain has had us on the phone all day!

Time to try and make up for a lost fall, and to try and replace many lost fish.

Bring it on...

Congrats all of you! That is a blessing. I hope the wet weather continues for a while and replenishes your wells and lakes too.

The new issue of PB mag has an article on Bastrop Lake and its status as near empty. Saw on the news the lake had come up 15 feet and was overflowing. Washed all the burned pine and trash into the lake. Good thing they got the new aeration system.

Drove from Houston to Dallas today and saw several flooded roads along the way. One of the lakes I manage up in Dallas was running about 2' over the spillway at one point this morning but had dropped back down to only 6" high by the time I got there.

We wound up with about 5.5 inches at my house. Mixed reports from 3 to 6 inches at Bowie.

Right now I'm dealing with a large enclosed sun room that got flooded. About all I will need to do is put in new carpet. And, of course, find a better way to redirect water away from the house.

We are in Wood county in East Texas and were limited to just over 2 inches of rain. I was hoping for the 4-5 inches that those to the West got, however the areas that received the largest amount of rainfall is in the watershed for most of Central and north Texas community water supply. That is exactly where we needed it the most! Yesterday ended up being a record breaker for most rainfall in Dallas Fort Worth within a 24 hour period of time and contributed to the second rainiest January ever. So much for drought forecasting! We also drove south through the rainstorms yesterday and along Interstate 45 there were several areas where the water had completely covered the service roads on either side of the roadway. Many areas where pastures and low areas that had not been flooded in years were flowing water like a big river. My son and wife who were in the car with me got tired of hearing my oohs and aahhs about the water. I was thanking God for most of the day!
